The Divas Sung by Karen Meeks is a musical homage to Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. Karen Meeks performs the Diva’s repertoire with The Blue River Soul Band on April 6, 2024 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the historic Albright Center for the Arts in Sunbury, PA. The Cotton Club like atmosphere will offer a festive evening with music spanning from the 1920’s to the 2000’s. Dress in the era that speaks to you! Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served gratis. There is a cash bar where patrons can purchase alcoholic beverages. There will be red carpet, cameras and lots of fun at this community event that brings people together in song.

The Blue River Soul Band will play at the Fall Festival in Lewisburg, PA from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm in the M & T Bank parking lot. They will perform music from their diverse repertoire including songs by artists such as The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, George Michael , Tina Turner, Al Green, Gerry Rafferty, Frank Sinatra, Buddy Guy, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Etta James, James Brown and more. The Lewisburg Fall Festival and Wooly Worm Prognostication will have games, food, craft vendors, music, face painting, bicycling and fun, fun, fun! The Blue River Soul featuring Karen Meeks returns for the second time this season. Last year they were very well received by all audiences because they play a variety of music that is enjoyable to people from all walks of life and from varying age groups. BRS plays songs from a diverse repertoire including artists like Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Tina Turner, John Denver, Linda Ronstadt, Carol King, Frank Sinatra, Buddy Guy, Ma Rainey, Etta James and many more!! Come check them out and you'll leave smiling! Performance times are 1:00 pm, 3:30 and 6:00.
